It’s important to note that unlike most other cannabis strains, Obama Runtz Strain doesn’t tolerate excessive amounts of nutrients very well at all. Most growers who have experience with Obama Runtz Strain will tell you to cut your base nutrients in half but add twice as much Cal-Mag as you would normally use.

Obama Runtz Strain isn’t a huge yielder so it’s also a good idea to prune your branches early to keep a nice even canopy and prevent your plants from over-shadowing their neighbors and diminishing your overall yield.

The Obama Runtz Strain earned its reputation because of its fragrance and flavor. We recommend an all-natural feeding regimen to allow those amazing flavors and aromas to take center stage. Outdoor and greenhouse growers are encouraged to use good, natural compost.

Indoor growers should always maintain a temperature of around 72 – 76 degrees Fahrenheit inside their grow space and keep the air circulating. The Obama Runtz Strain doesn’t like high humidity so we recommend taking preventative measures against common molds and fungi, such as powder mold.

You can further increase your yield, and the overall health of your plant, by allowing the substrate to almost dry out in between waterings. This practice will help encourage root growth and lead to a more vigorous outcome.

Always make sure to calibrate your pH meter properly, and always adjust the pH of your water so that the run-off water measures around 6.0.

Also make sure to also allow adequate time for flushing to remove any residual mineral salts that may have accumulated during the bloom cycle to maximize the flavor of the finished flowers.

We recommend that soil growers flush the Obama Runtz Strain for 10 to 14 days prior to harvest and that hydroponic growers flush the Obama Runtz Strain for 7 to 10 days prior to harvest.

In general, longer flushes tend to produce better flavors and aromas without decreasing yield.

Lastly, be patient. The Obama Runtz Strain is a real treat when the buds have the time to fully develop so make sure to monitor the trichomes closely under a 100x microscope and give them time to mature and start to turn amber before harvesting.
